The oil rig company will pay well to have an experienced paramedic on-board as conditions can deteriorate quickly offshore.
You could also try your hand at being the oil rig radio operator. This is a vital position that can be very boring but is usually combined with that of the safety officer. Any job on an oil platform is dangerous but as far as offshore jobs, roustabouts can be in harms way when working in bad weather.
