Are You A Pilot?
Compare an Aviation Job Flying, to Business
The skills you learn and master in an aviation job are similar to the skills
you need to succeed in business as well. I should know, having learnt to fly
after being in business for a number of years, the parallels are many.
The struggle to make ends meet financially, the planning, preparation and the study,
not to mention the mentoring and training received from instructors and fellow
pilots are just a few of the things that bare more than a passing resemblance
to the art and science of business.
In business, you need to plan, watch the details and stay ahead of the game to
avoid going broke. In flying you must do all that, to avoid falling out of the sky.
There are all sorts of challenges in flying and in business that keep you on your
toes and keep you concentrating.
The training you receive as a pilot will benefit your business career in a
hundred different ways. It stretches you and teaches you limits, both yours and
that of your aircraft. The lessons learnt can be as easily be applied to business
where knowing when to push and to hold back will mean the difference between
success and failure.
